We are all surrounded by extreme uncertainty with everything that is going on around us i.e. the pandemic, people losing jobs, people moving, financial stress, health stress, loosing loved ones, etc. It is hard to fathom that life could come to this, as there is such a lack of certainty in anything. Since we have not been taught how to live without planning every move, every step, and our way forward in our adult lives to suddenly be faced with this extremity, which we have not prepped for ever, is extremely challenging. So the question is – “ how can we learn to find comfort in these trying times?”
CHANGE IN PERSPECTIVE
Sounds familiar right? But when we think about it, it seems hard. How come? Here’s why – we as human beings don’t welcome change, but have always faced it. Even when you look back at our history and our ancestors we have done it. Even though we think we cannot, we somehow have always adapted to it! This challenging time is showing us that we as a human race can DO IT AGAIN. Life used to be about the little things, but in the last few years our pace has become so fast that, now, life has asked us to STOP and RETHINK, what our PRIORITIES are. One of the most important things we need to learn is how to be free and enjoy the moment, and somehow we have left that far behind in this rat race. Life is now giving each one of us a chance to feel FREE. And freedom doesn’t come with certainty, as there is no room for something better to happen. Life is pushing us to find comfort in UNCERTAINTY. Something we all need to LEARN.
If we wish to see this in a positive light, there are a lot of hidden gifts in this situation. It is not only teaching us the true essence of life, but also asking us not to worry about the past or future. It is teaching us how to live in the present moment. It is teaching us to surrender and have faith that balance will be restored. We are being taught to live with the bare minimum and basics. It is showing us our priorities, and what truly matters. It has made us understand the importance of connections, not only with others but also to connect with self. It is teaching us patience, and to make the most of what we have as we have no idea what tomorrow will bring. All in all, it’s also teaching us that we are not the only ones inhabiting this planet – and that when nature takes control, we never had and never will have control. This is truly a beautiful way for us to learn humility.
I know this time has been very hard for everyone, but I truly hope we can go beyond it and see the gifts in it as well. HOPE is what will help us to see the LIGHT at the end of the tunnel and get comfortable with UNCERTAINTY – THE NEW REALITY.
